How does the AA compare with other organisations?
- As the UK's largest breakdown organisation, the AA fixes
more breakdowns by the roadside than anyone else
- No other organisation has as many dedicated patrols
- The AA Members Club could save you an amount equal to or more than the
cost of your membership
- 95% of the AA's customers would recommend us to a friend
- No charge for labour carried out at the roadside, no matter how long
it takes
- On average the AA arrives in around 40 minutes of your call
How quickly would you reach me if my vehicle breaks down?
If you break down, the AA has the latest satellite technology to help find the shortest route to get to you.
What are the chances of you repairing my car at the roadside?
As the UK's largest breakdown organisation we fix more
cars by the roadside. Also, only the AA has 'VIxEN', a unique on-board
computer to help diagnose faults rapidly when you've broken down.. More
about the AA toolkit.
How much will it cost me?
There are six Options, or four products to choose from
for AA breakdown cover. Each Option contains Roadside, this gives you
help when you have broken down more than ¼ mile from your home.
If your car can't be fixed by the roadside, we'll take you and your car
to the nearest garage or an alternative destination, provided this is
no further. The additional features of Relay, Home Start and Relay Plus
aim to give you more peace of mind and extended cover.
How soon will I become an AA member?
After submitting your application online you will receive
an email sales confirmation. This contains a temporary membership number,
so you can contact us for roadside assistance if your vehicle breaks down.
Within 14 days you will then receive your new member pack and membership
card through the post.
If you enter your email address on the application form the AA will also
email you details of your cover. Please note: Relay and Relay Plus benefits
only start 24 hours after your membership commences.
Can I renew my membership online?
Around eight weeks before your membership is due to expire
the AA will send you a renewal invitation. This will include details of
your renewal, based on your existing level of cover, and the various ways
to renew your membership.
If you've received your renewal reminder (normally around eight weeks
before your renewal date) you can renew your membership online. Simply
go to the renewals page and follow the simple instructions. More
about renewing your membership.
Is my online payment secure?
Yes. The AA uses 128-bit encryption - the highest form
of encryption generally available - to make sure your payment is safe.
The AA's secure-server software scrambles all the details you input before
they are sent, so that only the AA can understand them. Find
out more about our Security Promise.
If you have problems using the secure system, it may be that your browser
does not support the encryption system. In this case, contact your browser
provider (eg Netscape or Internet Explorer) for further advice.
